I was woundering how long I need to wait before I can really try to id them? got like 3 orange 1 that looks like a bumble bee, and 2 darker ones that one has some vertical stripes the one with the stripes looks like tan, and the bigger one that has some very faint strips vertically looks darker brown with mabe some blue highlights around his top and bottom fins, or mabe just the light?
I've looked through tons of pictures, but not sure if mabe they are just still too small or what... all about 3/4" id say the one with the darker color is the biggest, and the tan one is the smallest, not much difference, like 3/16" difference or so I guess.. I read about the Bumble bee changing colors too, is there any given time frame? The one in the tank is of course like Yellow w/black stripes. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated, don't have any pictures of them cause I don't have a camera. Mabe I can find a buddy that has one, but doubt it. Anyways Thanks Ahead of time!

Wait about a year on the brown ones, the three oranges could be Red Zebras. You should be able to tell now if they are Red Zebras. Those browns ones could turn out to be some kind of peacock or hap. That is of course they are from Lake Malawi and are not mixed breeds. Best of luck.

That was what I have been thinking about them, one is solid orange, the other 2 have like 2 lines of black on there tail and one has a couple of black spots, very small, not completly round, and they both have some little black spots down their backs... Could they be still Red Zebras, or some kinda Hybrid? I did get them out of 2 different "tiny mixed african cichlid" tanks..
Thanks for the input!

I saw a picture in the gallery which kinda looks like one of the orange ones, exept it doesn't have as many spots, but the lines on the tail look like the lines on this little ones tail... how can I find more information on these? Tried searching here, but wont allow me to use OB, even tryed with the quotes. hmm, dunno
Thanks!

When they grow a bit try to post some pictures. You'll have better luck having them identified. LOL

If they have little tiny black spots then they are probably Red Zebras who have crossed with the family lines. Red Zebras will breed with anything.

There are so many pictures, on so many websites. I have looked and looked, seems like that there are alot of pictures of adults, but not so many of the younger ones, if there is anyone that knows of a site with alot of them, please let me know. They are growing so fast I will probably be able to tell in another month or 2, or atleast be closer to Figuring them out. Hopefully, will have access to a decent camera in the next couple of days, then I can go ahead and post some pics.

Here is a picture of the biggest cichlid so far, the color doesn't look that blue on his body, but his fins do have a blue color to them, but not that blue either, although when he goes to the top of the aqarium it does look pretty blue on his fins, mabe I don't have enough light in the tank to see his true colors? Sorry it is blurry but that is the only way I could get his stripes to show up... Will post some more different ones of him, and some of the one that was the smallest at first these are the 2 I am most concerned with now, cause I'm pretty sure what the other ones are, or will be able to tell in another month mabe?
