I have six Green Terrors and six Red Devils in a 55gal. I know i need a bigger tank but how big. Also if I get any pairs what size tank should I keep the pairs in?

To properly house all of those fish, you will need a tank of atleast 500g, because your fish will swiftly grow to 10-12" or more and will pair off to breed at much smaller sizes. Unless you can provide a tank of this magnitude, you should shoot for a tank around 100g and house a pair of either Red Devils or Green Terrors, or keep a single Red Devil or Green Terror in your current 55g aquarium.

A pair of each in their own 125g's sounds excellent. And you will still have quite a bit of space in each tank to stock a number of different Catfish, Characins, Cyprinids, or smaller cichlids.

Sounds good.I like the idea of splitting them up into there own 125.
