:wink: I have a bumblebee cichlid what is their scientific name and where do thay come from.How many females should I keep with one male?

Maylandia crabro or Pseudotropheus crabro. 1 male/2 or 3 females. They get over 6", I had one that was about 8".

Hi Ginger,
M. crabro is a pretty easy mbuna to keep. They do get a bit larger than some other mbuna, but for the most part are not exceptionally aggressive. Like Jonah, my Bumblebee is 7"+ but still gets chased by most of the fish in my tank. Then he will suddenly stand his ground and they leave him alone for a while. I find it cool that he can go from almost solid black to pale yellow with brown stripes depending upon what's happening to him. Enjoy, LOL

I have two bumblebee cichlids and one constantly trys to keep the other from eating.

I don't understand this because I also have two jewels, two malawi zebra's, two malawi golden and six tiger barbs and it doesn't bother any of those, how can I tell the diference in sex and what help can anyone give me?
