I personally wouldn't do it because UV kills benificial bacteria and organisms.

I am a naturalist when it comes to my tank.

If you do it let me know how it works out.

:D Thanks for the reply. I'am currently pricing them and I think I'am going to install one. I've been having some kind of parasite or bacteria problems, fish are really scratching and have about treated them to death, lost a fish for the first time today. From everything I can find out the bacteria you need in the tank is in the substrate and on the tank decorations and in the filters any free floating really does not matter. Will let you know in a few weeks how things turn out. Once again thanks for the reply.

My fish scratch on the rocks every once in a while, but I actually think it is because of the substrate, which is crushed coral.

They are eating and happy

I also don't use a UV sterilizer, but if I had the problems you've described in the "Clinic", I'd give it a try. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
