My Jewels Keep eating their eggs...Why?

This is the second time my Jewel Cichlids have laid eggs but the keep eating them. They are in with Africans and do quite well. How can i stop the eggs from being eaten.

perhaps they are not being fertalized by the male..It can take a couple of tries but a breeding pair is bound to get it right sooner than later.
