What is the best way to breed Malawi Cichlids?

Hi,
I am trying to find the best way of breeding Malawi Cichlids.
Could you buy a breeding pair and place them in a tank of their own, then once the female has eggs in her mouth place the male back in the large tank with my other fish? Or wait for them to breed in the large tank and attempt to remove the female to save the fry?

It really depends on the species. I would suggest you locate a species and learn about them. Many of the fish do better as harem spawners with a couple males and many females.
