I normally do 15-25% water changes on my tanks once a week. I have 6 istlanums in a 55gallon they are all 1-1.5". Would it be allright if i did water changes every two or three days instead of once a week? To help there growth. thanks

Make sure first the tank is completely cycled. This takes about six weeks in most cases.

Otherwise, the more the better.

Based on your current bio-load I would say every two weeks would be fine. However, rather than guessing, test your water and determine it's condition before deciding how often to change. IMHO

Yeah, testing nitrate growth is a good indicator. But most of the time I know I can change whenever due to the heavy feeding of juvies.

I know this probably sounds crazy (but whoever said I was sane:confused: ), but unless I am really pressed for time I actually enjoy doing my water changes. I enjoy a clean tank a lot more.

That doesn't sound crazy to most of us........ we can relate! Very therapeutic!

Most everyone else, though, would think you're nuts!
