I am using crushed coral as a substrate now but want to change to something darker that will also keep the PH up.
I saw this stuff "Eco-Complete African Cichlid Substrate" which sounds pretty good, but would like to hear from others that have used it or similar stuff.

I've used that, and it does what it says. Nothing special either way, so if you like the look of it go ahead!

Thanks for the reply, but I think now I am going to use Tahitian Black Moon Sand.

That's what I like, a guy who makes a decision and sticks with it! Just kidding, I know what you're going thru. Sometimes I change my mind several times before I finally decide. And, frequently I decide on what I considered initially.

one of my friends has the tahitian black moon sand in her tank along with texas holey rock--it looks fabulous.
