I was wondering if anyone has kept wild fish like Largemouth bass, Perch, Northeren Pike?

I recieved a Goby and a Brown Pike and wanted to know what chances I have of keeping these until a certain size and has anyone ever kept any form of pike or wild fish.

What would it be fed??
What would I expect?

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated :)

Check out this month's TFH. I'm not sure if it will have exactly what you're looking for, but it does have an article devoted to the keeping of game fishes in the aqauarium.

I keep some sunfish. Mostly I feed them earthworms or rosey reds. I try to get them to eat flake, but so far they aren't much interested in it.

Somtimes fish like that are illegal to keep at home because the state doesnt like them transfered from one watershed to another. Not quite sure what a brown pike is but a northern pike can get to over 3 feet long, you would need a pretty big tank. A friend of mine kept a pickeral (smaller cousin to the pike) for a short time and he fed him feeder goldfish or guppies. Pike eat live food in the wild like other fish, ducks, whatever fits in their mouths. Largemouth bass eat the same type of stuff, but also crayfish and worms. Dont think the pike will eat worms. Sunfish would be cool, they are fearless in the wild, Ive had them nip at my skin while swimming before. Ive thought on putting together a tank of juvenile local fish, wouldnt have to heat the water but would probably have to release everything once a year.
