Not me, but I was in Hawaii in November, went to Kuaui and Maui. Do you have nice fish stores over there with basically any fish you'd find here on the mainland?

Not so much... We do get MOST of the fish you can find on the mainland, but there's a few things we don't get... My favorite LFS here on O'ahu is Kalihi Pet Center, in Kalihi (duh :-P)... They've got the best selection of cichlids and other freshwater fish... No Saltwater there though... It's nice to go into a pet store and see that it's clean and maintained, not only are all the tanks clean and well lit, and there's rarely a dead fish in any of them (which is something I see at a lot of the other 'corporate pet stores'), but the rest of the store is tidy and well organized too!! Everything is in place and well taken care of...

My second favorite store is the Enchanted Lake Pet Center in Kailua... Another clean and well run store!! Not quite the selection of cichlids, but theres ample choice for other freshwater and saltwater fish... Plus it's close to home and the people there are really cool...

I'd like to get in touch with some people out here so if there's anyone out there!?!?!

Aloha!

i just remembered a place called moanalua pets it's over by the stadium (right next to the ice palace).
they have tons of fish.
i don't go there often because it's a disgustingly filthy store, which makes me wonder about how well they take care of their livestock. but they do have a really good selection.

and then like we said above kalihi pet center and enchanted lake pets are good stores depending upon what you are looking for.

You can also try Coral Fish Hawaii in Pearl City area... they've got a great selection of freshwater and marine fish and the prices are pretty reasonable as well.... If I'm every in that area I'll stop by just to see what they've got in stock...

I wouldn't recomend Moanaloa pets, the one by the Ice Palace.... Amongst my friends, we call it 'Death Pets' because almost everything we've ever bought there has died... I'd say over 80%.... Like Nik mentioned though, the store isn't very clean, and the tanks aren't usually either... They do have a really good selection of different fish though!!! but what's the use if they all die after a few days???

I love the EL and Kalihi pets!!!

aloha!
