ive had the buttikoferi for a few months and the other guy aorun a month maybe shorter i dont really know.

Its unbelievable how fast the buttikoferis grow i bought mine at about 1/2" now he is 2.5 a month and a half later

You should PM Rex to take a look next time he comes by. He might be out for the weekend.
I think it is definately a female. I would not say a pure lab though. I think it is a red devil pet store crossed variety. Nice fish though.

yeah i agree with that. he has changed so much since i got him. The part that really confuses me is that his color changes from that color with dots to all orange. And this can happen in no time and changes so often.

Hhmm, yeah, their colors sometimes do change will breeding. Their individual patterns will become more defined and sometimes new patterns will arise. But I've never seen any kind of Amphilophus with small blotchy spots. Large blotches, a darker head, or even stripes are all rather common though.
