are you planing on keeping all those fish in the 55gallon? if you are your tank is over stcked and you should take out the oscars.

Try a striped raphael they are pretty and they have armor so they will not be eaten easily. I miss mine he died over the weekend.:(

you should check out columbian sharks, they get up to 10 inches

Those columbian sharks are brackish/saltwater fish once they get older they really do prefer the brackish/salt environment.

Only thing with a Raphael is they tend to hide during the day so you wont be seeing much of that fish if it has a place to hide.

I would hold off on getting any more fish for that aquarium until you get a bigger tank. The jacks and a catfish would be cool in the aquarium but as others have mentioned oscars are a little/LOT cramped in a 55 gallon tank.

Edit:

Forgot to add if that is a common pleco he needs to be removed from the tank as well. They can grow much larger than oscars can hitting 24 inches + without problems. I would see if I could trade him for a different 'pleco' type if it is a common pleco.

all you have to do is slowly convert it to brackish
