I was wondering how the to determine the appearance and characteristics of selectively bred fish. Could anyone explain it to me. Should I use a Punnett Square? Thanks in advance for answering my question.
You mean how to "manipulate" traits for some desired physical characteristic, yes?
Hardly my area, but
The Punnett Square can be a powerful predictive tool, but you'd nevertheless have to know how genes act (i.e., are they additive, recessive/dominant?)
I suggest first a survery of basic genetics, then some research into the same with fish, followed by more specific investigation, including talking with breeders, into the species you're interested in. What's recessive and dominant, for example, is based on specific findings for particular traits.

I have done the basic genetics thing. Now I have to find out what genes are dominant, additive and recessive. Any suggestions on where to look and who to talk to. Thanks again.
