I have two glass tops on my 75 gallon show tank in my living room. I have cleaned and scrubbed them to death and calcium buildup returns the next day :saw: I've even used vinegar and water everytime I clean the glass tops (which is about every 5 days) and still the return of the CALCIUM BUILDUP. Any other remedys that I can use?

I know this does not help, however I can think of nothing I would deem fish safe that would do the trick.

here's how i came to that conclusion.

i had 3 tanks covered in really hard calcium buildup.
a thick line has been formed near the top of the tank.

when I moved house, 2 of those tanks where left outside with plants. In due time, algae covered the walls of those tanks. But I did not bother cleaning them as they are just used for growouts of plants.

when I replaced the substrate with another type, I scrubbed the tank and voila, the thick buildup peeled off just like paint. one side is green while the other one is white.

even the 1 tank i'm still using has lost most of its calcium buildup because the brown algae has crept up to it. i was able to remove it easily. just a few spots remaining though.
