Less than active electric yellow?

Hi guys, as some of know, I just recently added my first six fish after changing my tank and setting it up for Africans. I added six and all of them appear to be in good health. My only concern is for one of the yellows, he doesn't look stressed or ill in any way, but he spends most of his time hiding in the roots of a plastic plant, not nearly as active as everyone else. Is this normal?

Not sure how long ago you added the fish or what other types of fish you have, but it is not uncommon for it to take a month or so for the fish to sort out dominance. During this process, a lesser dominant fish might very well seek shelter throught the process. Labs are certainly on the less dominant side (in african cichlid context) and as long as the fish is healthy, remains unscared I wouldn't worry. Good luck.
