Felt like posting an old pic. I hate it when I get an urge, get rid of a fish and look at an old pic and wonder what I did that for. I used to pet this guy on the head every morning.

It is NOT A FLOWERHORN!!! I AM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING THAT!!!

Just kidding he was indeed a flowerhorn, he was a very beautiful fish regardless of what the blood lines were.

He was one of the first Flowerhorns brought into Calgary supposively. They seem to have deteriorated even more since then.

im not sayin that because i dont like them. i do ive had them before they are very nice looking fish. i just bought somthing from the lfs. its either a gold trimac or gold flowerhorn. i will try to post pics as soon as possible.

There is no such thing as a gold trimac so it is a gold flowerhorn for sure.

They are neat fish you will enjoy it.

To each his own. IMO mutts make the best and healthiest pet dogs. So long as you don't propogate your mutt fish and sell them as pure, who cares if you have them or not? He is a cool-looking fish.

I agree with that statment entirely. Gold flowerhorn label even drives me nuts. It is a flowerhorn. Call it that and enjoy it. If there is no false expectations then there is no harm done. It is not the disco fish that everyone makes it out to be.

k i wasnt sure rudy. i know many people always argue about flowerhorns so i ddint know. he is and orange ish white his body is. and his fins have a darker orange color with white spots. he is about 4inches. i saw him and couldnt pass him up for $10. so i got him. they had a female in the tank with him. im not sure if they were a pair so i may go back and get her.

I wouldn't bother with the female. Breeding these guys is pretty dangerous to the females. You will need a larger tank and seperate them. + there is tons of flowerhorns to go around as chances are they were from the same batch of fry they probably won't look as good as yours.

Stick a mirror on the side of the tank. That helps them get nice real quick.

he looks a little like him. the white on yours is the same coclor on my flowerhorns body. he has a few dark orange spot on his head and mouth and all orange fins with white spots. he is almost perfect. he has the long fins on him but he has a missing part whick looks like its from a bite. and also he has a nice set of teeth on him. and i will try posting pics soon. hopefully.
