Fish Not Eating

my buttikoferi wont eat pellets or anything like that. its only about 2inches now and i fed it guppies once and now it wont eat anything else.(i fed him the guppies a whila ago) what should i do? Can i only feed him guppies now? or can not eating have somthing to do with the ph or nitrates?thanks

what are your ph and nitrate? Not eating is a serious sign.

my ph has been fine but i lost the kit so i havnt been able to get it for like 3-4weeks and i dont know about the nitrates this week i plan on getting a new nitrate and ph kit

well he is fine and everything is normal. its weird because the only time he really eats is when there is another fish in the tank with him that is bigger than him.:confused:
