Hi All

Im under the impression that i do infact have a convict.

Is it normal for them to be extremly aggressive, he keeps chasing the electric blues almost constantly the only time he stops is when he sleeps.

the only fish he leaves alone are the two loach

thanks

They are a pretty aggressive fish for their size. They seem to have no fear and it only gets worse if you have a pair spawning. They have no trouble picking on bigger fish and they can be relentless like you described.

They are indeed aggressive, ferocious in fact (for their size)
convicts are ca cichlids...granted, they could live in a mud puddle, but they probably shouldn't be mixed with african cichlids due to aggression, diet & water parameter differences.
