what would be the best flourescent color enhancing bulb out on the market? thats relativly cheap(no more then $25/bulb).

That depends on the colors you want to accent. I use an actinic and a full spectrum together. The actinic brings out mostly blues and purples. It makes the yellows really stand out as well. The full spectrum is for all colors, but can make some look washed out. Every bulb that I have costs no more than $25. Usually you can get them cheaper online. If I got them at the smaller lfs around here, they'd cost me about $30-35.

yeh, i have 50/50 compact flourescent bulbs on my 10 gallon nano-reef tank, and i put the 28 watt onto my 100 gallon,a nd it made the colors stnad out really well once the fish swam by.

i was wondering the prices for regular flourescent's, not the compacts. 24" ones

The bulbs I was talking about are 30" flourescents that are on my 120g.

ahh, i have 2 18" on my 100. i'm gonna try to get actinic flourescent bulbs for my set-up. hopefully i cna find them cheap :)

I use Powerglo's on my tanks and I like the colors it gives.

The standard lamp in a Coralife fixture is a good mix (I can't place the name at the moment....... sorry).
