View Full Version : Moving some of my tanks tommorow.
Moving them to our new house
I can't sleep I am so worried about the game plan. I feel like I am going to be sleeping beside the tank to make sure all my fish are comfortable tonight.
:D
Wish me luck

Best of luck my Cannuck friend.
How are you moving them? In some Rubbermaid or something else?

Good luck with the move! You should have seen me when we moved Big Daddy and Baby-san. They were in a cleaned out 40lb cat litter bucket with their biowheels. They rode between my legs on the front floor of our car so that I could monitor their progress. We didn't have air conditioning and the outside temp was 90+. I kept checking their temp. obsessively every 15 min or so and had extra cool water in a small cooler that I could use if they started to get distressed. They were also the first thing moved in and set up with a sponge filter and air pump.
Like my husband always says: Who needs kids when you have cats and fish?

GL Rudy!
Move went in a word o.k. It is almost midnight and I am tired. I used rubber maid tubs with the exception of my dovi and festae. They had their own 5 gallon buckets. I went back to my old house for the second load to find my Festae laying on the cement dryed up. The funny thing is I think he is going to make it. I have him in a 10 gallon back at the old house and he seems to be getting better. No loss of fish yet. The tanks however especially the 187 were a real chore to get up the spiral stairs. 3 of us worked it out though
Day 2 tommorow. I am tearing down walls for my upstairs tanks.

Hello
I just recently moved all my fish 2000 miles from San Antonio, Texas to Waddington, New York took 3 days all i lost was my Texas Cichlid he never made it out of texas :) Well it was my fault I thought he would be ok with a juvenile midas but besides that i moved about 30 fish counting clown loaches, plecos, tinfoil barbs... 1 RD, 1 Midas, 1 Tiger Oscar, 1 JD, 1 Fire Mouth, 1 Acara, 1 Flowerhorn all made it so it was a real load off my back constant water changes when we went to the hotels and ran the filters off the rubber maid tubs while i was sleeping huge emp 400s hanging off 10 gallon tubs hehe.. Anyways that was my experience in moving fish :)
