MY husband did a 25% water change 4-5 days ago and our tank has been cloudy since...we just checked our levels... they are as follows,
nitrate 160
nitrite .5
hardness 300
alkalinity 0
PH 6.8

our levels were fine before the water change...what happened???? what do I do?

Just watch the fish to make sure they aren't in distress, you probably are experiencing a mini-cycle. If they are, change out some water to give them some relief. Did you clean the filters, too? Is your ammonia at 0?

yea we changed the filters too but only 1 at a time as we have 2 filters. Our test kit doesnt test for amonia...we still gotta buy that one...but the water doesnt smell strong.

Are you using a water conditioner for chlorine/chloramine? I know that's pretty basic stuff but thought I'd ask, you don't want to kill the good bacteria.

yea we always treat the water before putting it in the tank. its starting to clear up a little bit, the fish dont seem bothered at all though.

Bacterial bloom due to a mini cycle as Cichgirl said. If you fully swapped out teh media in one filter it may have strained the system a little.

If you notice any hard breathing add a teaspoon or two of kosher/aquarium salt to help fight nitrite poisoning.
