Alvino convicts

I'm planning on breeding my convicts because last time they ate their fry. They usually lay em at random times but is there any way to make them have another batch that will have at least 2-3 healthy fry grow up? Like should I just wait until they want to breed again by themselves? or do I have to raise water temperature or anything like that?? Cuz they gave up on it about 8 months ago and this month they had 1 batch and the female ate all the fry cuz its her first batch. But, the male has had many other batches.
