View Full Version : black trim on tank

I just finished cleaning out my 10 gallon tank and surprisingly the black trim on the bottom just kind of came off.

i was considering putting my own wood trim and building a wood canopy just to give the tank a nicer/not so cheap look.

does taking the black trim off of a small tank like this weaken the tank/glass/seal in any way?

i don't know how critical it is to the integrity of the tank but you could just silicone it back on.

Yes, silicone it back on.... it adds enough support that you would want it attached. You can always glue a wood molding to the trim later on if you want a custom stand/canopy. (or build recesses to cover the trim)
