Thought it would be nice for us to share feeding schedules and special recipes here.
I usually feed my tanks twice a day. With a light flake feeding for lunch. My fry tanks get food 3 times a day.
I feed the big guys Tetra Cichlid sticks, Formula 2 algae sinking pellets, Wardley cichlid pellets, Wardley shrimp sticks, and Tetra Cichlid color granules. I soak all the pellets before feeding.
The small guys get the Tetra color granules and Marineland Bio-pellets. I also feed the little guys some high protien Formula Two flakes.
I try to give them LeSuer early peas, but I have stopped this mainly because pea shells clog my filters. They don't eat the shells. I try to de-shell them but its time consuming and I am slave enough to my fish. :)
I feed brine shrimp once per week.
I don't really have any specialty recipes and am sort of hoping NM will chime in with his veggie flake recipe ;)

Right now, I feed all my tanks Shrimp Mix in the morning. Here's the link with the recipe:

I'm thinking of varying this recipe somewhat the next time I make a batch. I'm thinking of using carrots in place of part of the peas in order to add more carotene to the food. Anyhow, the fish love it.
In the afternoon, they get a snack of flake. My biggest tank gets HBH Graze (afternoon salad  ). My Peacocks and Altocomps get Tetra Pro until I finish it off. Then they'll get a small pellet food.
In the evening (and not every evening), I give the big tank frozen mysis (1 cube) alternated with frozen krill and frozen daphnia. The peacocks and altocomps get the mysis too but they also get frozen brine and frozen bloodworms.
My julis in the 29 get some variation of the two diets so they probably actually get more variety.

I feed my fish twice a day including my fry tank. (All Tangs)
A.M. - Brine Shrimp Plus Flakes & Spirilina Flakes
P.M. - 1/2 cube frozen Mysis Shrimp, 1/2 cube frozen Brine Shrimp & 1 cube Daphnia.
The fry tank gets a little of the Brine Shrimp and Daphnia. Also give the fry some Brine Shrimp Plus Flakes.

Eeep, I forgot. I also throw about four or five sinking shrimp pellets in my big tank after lights out for the petricola about every three days or so. The other fish generally peck some on those too.

Yes , I forgot my nocturnal feeders as well :)
My Serveum loves to have an algae wafer thrown in right when I turn the lights out. I throw in a few extras for my plecos and botia. As well as some shrimp pellets.
are they spoiled or what??

Hi all,
In the AM I feed with Aquarian tropical flake and some New Life Spectrum cichlid formula, and community formula.
Afternoon, well they need to fend for themselves.
Eearly evening, twice a week they get some chopped cooked shrimp or mussels; the 125g Hap tank. Other evenings they get Hikari Gold pellets, Tetra color bits, or a combo of the above flake and pellet. I also do the pea thing occasionally. Also feed Nutrifin Spirulina flake.
My 55g Mbuna tank gets peas and flake also pellets. Once a week they get some chopped shrimp but not alot.
I also like to feed both tanks with some blanched zucchini for the plecs I have in each tank.
After lights out my Hap tank gets Hikari algae wafers and Tetramin variety wafers for my 2 Syn multis and my Syn eupterus.
But I also feed them frozen plankton and brine shripm when I get my butt to the store and buy some. Its hard to transport frozen fish food in Florida in the summer, unless you make a special trip for them. Which usually is not a problem , but as of late my free time has been reduced.
Bottom line, I try to keep them interested with a varied diet and try to add as much "real food" as possible.
I am going to have a look at that shrimp recipe above, maybe I'll use it.
Regards,
Matt
