Does anyone have any experience with this fish....I was in the LFS today and they had a tank of them that caught my eye...awesome looking fish..they look a little bit like a sand ray...the worker at the store didn't know much about them...
I'm not surprised the LFS had no idea about the fish... most LFS's are useless nowadays. What happened to the good ol days when they actually hired aquarium keepers as employees? Now they hire skateboarders and video game freaks... ahhhh. Oh well, end rant... this should get you started on with your research.

We think so much alike!
Like the girl at a lfs who asked me, "Is that a disease?" I asked for Syn. multipunctatus.
Wow, it looks like I have an admirer....

in response to the question- the whiptail cat is much like all of the other plecs, they like well oxigenated water, lotrs of wood and plants and can get quite long. i would say a well planted 55 gallon with a lot of wood would be good. as for adding them with cichlids i would say its a bad idea, they need more plants, and less rocks. plus they aent aggresive.
in response to the rant- THE BEST WAY NOT TO HAVE TO DEAL WOTH THOSE NO TALENT ASS CLOWNS AT THE LFS IS TO GO TO A FAMILY OWNED SPECIALTY FISH STORE. I WORK AT ONE (ONE OF THE BEST IN THE CITY) AND IN ORDER TO HIRED U NEED TO KNOW WHAT FISH ARE... HAVE TANKS LOL... NO SERIOUSLY THEY INTERIGATE U B4 ANYTHING GOES DOWN.
GOOD LUCK ALL AND
POWER fOx
