View Full Version : pH rising

For some reason the pH in my tank has risen from a 6.4 to a 7.6 over the past few weeks. Oddly it seems to coincide with me beginning to use the Python for changes. Does anyone know if using warm tap water that came through the hot water heater could elevate the pH? Does oxygen (bubble walls) affect the pH? Its a 120g freshwater tank with a gold severum, blue acara and a pleco and two live plants. Other parameters seem fine but this is driving me crazy...

Test your tap water.

What decorations due you have? Anything carbonic?

Tap water is high(7.3) too but I've always used tap water. No change in the decorations either and nothing carbonic
