My 90g has algae all over the front, I can't seem to ever get it off because it is hard to see it through the water. Plus my algae scrubber is weak. I am thinking of buying this 35 dollar magnet scrubber for thick glass, but I wanted to check to see if they really work before I shell out the clams for one.

Scrape first, then use a MagFloat every other day or so........ much easier, but it won't take off the tough stuff.

Ditto what chc & Gypsy said. And the magfloat comes up to meet you if the two halves get seperated.

Hi SGM and others,

I have a Kent pro-algae scrubber, and I find the edge much to blunt to do an efficient job of glass cleaning. I use a razor blade, a bit laborious, but it works. Also have a Plec in each tank and that helps a lot.

Regards,

Matt

mine works just fine, and i like the fact that it's not razor sharp for safety reasons.

Just be careful with the razor blade. If it gets dull or you get distracted you can put some nasty scratches in your glass.
