I took back both of these 35 dollar aquarium plastic logs because my fish were getting in the hollow part and never coming out. I returned them and got a reptile plastic log that has only pinned size holes, has any one else tried this before? any problems? Also I picked up about 45 lbs of Kewanaw stepping stones. I tried the vinigar on them and no bubbles. They are a flat like skipping stone but larger and are very round, not pointed. Any one tried these before? If yes how were they? Thanks P.S. I already added the reptile log as my clown loaches needed somewhere to hide and I didn't want them to feel unsecure, but the rocks are not added yet. I am leaving the rocks to soak overnight in hot water.

All of the reptile decorations I have checked out says not to put them in aquariums. I dunno why this is but you might check the tag it had on it, if it did.

I think the paint would start to peel off. I have a similar one in my snake cage and it does not seem to hold up well.

Why not get a real piece of driftwood? I love the look of real wood in the aqaurium.

Ya I have looked at those at petsmart before, and it specifically says not for aquarium use.

Yup, the "anti-microbial agent" is why they say to not put them in aquariums.
My wife has a few of these "logs" for her snakes, and I have to keep them in a seperate area so they won't get in a tank by mistake.
If you already put one in your tank, good luck and keep a close eye on your fish.
For all I know, they might be the same product as the fish safe stuff, but I've never tried them in an aquarium.
Keep us updated on how it goes.
