Also for fun: find the Brichardi. :cool:

My parent in laws have this very nice creek/ river running through their property in GA. I have always wanted to use the rocks and small gravel in the bed for a tank substrate. I collected some samples on my last trip up and the photo shows the results. The metallic rocks are mica and pyrite which is known as fool's gold. Yeha!

The tank is a 20g that I am thinking of raising some shellies in. Right now it serves as a refuge for my female Red Eureka, to give her a vacation from her prolific mate which you can see in my gallery page.

i hate to be a killjoy, but i think that those rocks containing metals are dangerous for a fishtank, especially if the tank has NaCl in it.:oops:

Your not a kiljoy at all SGM! Its all my fault. I am getting ready to take those micas and pyrites out. Thanks for the info!

NaCl is? Nitrate? :oops: :oops: :(

NaCl is salt(table salt, aquarium salt, sea salt). they did look pretty, though. at least you have the pic!

Yes it was a nice rock formation, shame about the metals.
