Well, they did it again. I come home Denver after finding out my wife and I are having a boy and walk into the kictchen. *BAM!* My male trimac slams into the glass flaring for all he is worth and showing wonderful color. I knew imediatly what had happened and took a closer look. There, in the corner, the female was laying her eggs. They were spawning. This is way too soon, I haven't even gotten rid of the first batch. I knew this was a rare opportunity so I grabbed my cam and took 4 vids of the breeding. The male went back to ferilizing while the female continued to lay eggs. It was great, but I had to leave since I was taking my wife out to eat and celibrate. After dinner at the CrabShack and a second viewing of the Matrix, I come home and they tore each other up(Luckily mainly just the fins). They are now seperated and should heal fast, but this is the second time this has happened and actually happened sooner. This time the female didn't even wait for the babies to hatch. I watched and it was her doing most the attacking. He would fend her off and go back to guarding, just to have her come after him again. So now they are seperated, but I have the eggs near by. He really was and is a good father, so this time any that get over to his side he can care for. He is staying right next to the divider, watching the eggs and still guarding them as if he was right there. Also, no worries about the parents, they are both doing fine and just seem to be torn up at the fins, which is no problem and is the easiest to heal.
