View Full Version : Thats unusual I am happy Monday morning.
My Jags laid eggs this weekend. They are guarding them like crazy. Looks like 3/4 of them I would guess are fertilized. There are about 300 eggs.
It is pretty awesome! :D
Congratulations Rudy! That is most excellent. See...I told you that you wanted the Jag pair. Keep us updated.

They didn't waste any time did they? What helped the most, Sinatra or tequila?
I can't figure out what went wrong. This morning I came and all the eggs are gone. The jags are still protecting the nest very intensely (is that a word!?) but the eggs are gone and I do not see any fry.
I lied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have fry. Lots of them. The female moved them under a clay pot
Sweeeeet! Congratulations! Where's the camera?
I lost my cord to download to the computer but this is to awesome. I will pick one uyp today.
My fry seem to have disapeared. I am thinking one of two things. The female has moved them into a clay pot that I can not see the inside of.
Either that or they got sick of me. I will keep everyone posted.
I am hoping that the pleco didn't get em.
She just moved em. They are in anothe clay pot I opened it up in there and there they were hundreds of them.
There are probably 500 free swimming beautiful little jaguarfry in the tank this morning!!! :D
I am going to pick up a 25 gallon to raise them up. Anybody have any idea how long I will have to grow them and how much I can sell the fry for?
That's great to hear Rudy! We expect to see some pics...
Is a 25 going to be large enough to even begin to growout 500 jag fry?
I probably won't keep all 500 maybe 150 would be a little more manageable I would say.
Ah, snack time in the 180...?
Actually I found a good recipe for jag fry on the net. I may try it out.
