Hello all, I picked up a Vampire Pleco today. I went to an LFS to pick up a BN Pleco for one of my tanks and he didn't have any. He told me that the Vampire Pleco was another excellent cleaner. Having done no research on this specimen, I took his word as truth. Getting home and starting the www searches online, I have so far read that they like to eat shrimp, bugs, and plants and such. Very omnivorous. Does anyone have them in their tanks? Do they actually clean algae? Any info on them will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Sure enough !!! Prawns and Snails are at the top of the menu.

I feel like I've been lied to. I went in looking for a BN, and he sells me one of the most expensive pleco's he has telling me that he is just as good of an algae eater ... and when homework is done, sure enough, the L007 Vampire Pleco barely touches the stuff.
