From what I could tell it looks like the upside down catfish.Its got those funky fins on its back.

"Lace cat" is a generic trade name, used for several different species of Synodontis. This one wouldn't happen to be black, with a few gold or silver "flakes" on the sides, would it?

yea a Upsidedown cat ,, same fish....They dont swim upside down ,, when they are resting they usually are upsidedown "vertical" or Belly up under a rock...

ya i have one and ya they are pretty terrortorial, as your does mine chases away the convicts and africans and was sold to me as an upside down cat, looks like a leopard. and he grows extremely fast.
