Man this guy can eat!

I put this lima shovelnose in a 55 with about 100 convict fry a week or so ago and there are only four left! He is just a baby about four inches at the moment. He also seems to eat the pellets I put in for the bumble bee cat so hopefully when the fry are gone he will not starve.

I used to have one of these growing up. They are really cool. A few small feeder goldfish or guppies should keep him going. I used to have breeding guppies in a 10 gallon tank and then I would use the offspring to feed my cats.

What type of cat would you suggest for Africans?

my vote is for synodontis cats--they hold their own with the cichlids and there are some species that are endemic to the lakes. the most readily available are the tanganyikan syno. petricola and the syno. multipunctatus. there are also many riverine synos that adapt easily to the conditions of an african tank: syno. eupterus, nigriventris, ocellifer, etc.
