Well, one of my new acquisitions has about two little white spots while another has about three.

Since the infestation is early, would I be OK to bump up the temp to 83-84, add salt (1tbsp per 5g), and vacuum the gravel daily?

Or should I medicate immediately, and if I medicate, what should I use?

I wouldn't medicate. Sounds like ich. As long as you have no scaless fish the salt treatment without vaccuming will get rid of it. Temp will speed up the lifecycle of the ich and the salt will preventing the ich from reattaching. It salt will also reduce your new fish stress level and will not harm you biological filter. Your tank is established right?

Yeah, it's established. Although, I do have one S. petricola in there. I was reading earlier today and several places said that the salt shouldn't hurt the petricola because he is a rift catfish.
