Bad week for the fish tank. I had a female kimpuna get stuck between a rock and the side of the tank and die and I found my female fuelleborni (that was carrying) dead this morning. She was wedged up under some rocks. No apparent cause of death. Tested the water an it is fine, all other fish seem healthy. Doesn't seem to be too much stress in the tank so I'm a little confused. I know the fuelleborni was weak because she hadn't eaten in several weeks and she had lost some weight, but I've heard many fish go that long and longer when holding. I'm watching the remaining fish very closely. Any thoughts or things I should look for? :(

sounds like just what you said--a bad week in the fish tank. sometimes things just happen. mouthbrooder females are equipped to go that long without eating, but sometimes you get a weak one...yours may just have done the same thing that the kimpuna did--wedged herself into too small a space(not uncommon with mbunas, actually--they like to squeeze themselves into small spaces and sometimes they miscalculate).
