One of my tanks is prone to getting algae. It's a 10 gallon tank. In order to keep the algae under control, would I be better off getting 2 Golden Algae Eaters (or similar) OR getting a small pleco to do the job. I'm aware that the pleco will outgrow the tank and I would have to get rid of him and get a new small one. I am familar thet a bushy pleco grows to only 4" but they are hard to find where I live.

Those golden algae eaters tend to be a bit aggressive at times. One nearly killed a few goldfish I have, so then I threw it in with my cichlids (thinking they would make a meal of it) but it stepped right up and was just as aggressive with them! LOL

Point being, be careful when adding one of them...

Maybe a rubber lipped pleco? Or are those hard to find as well?
