View Full Version : Can you help me identify these?

I am hoping that someone here can give me an answere to what these are, I would love to see a pic of one other than these so that I could definately know what they are, I had someone tell me they were Red Empresses but their not. If you look closly the side view shows stripes, the front view in the next post shows there mouths, it is nothing like a typical cichlid. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have two of these, I think a male and female but not sure. They were in a mixed tank.

Well, they definitly have the fuelleborni snout (thats not spelled right).
Maybe some experienced mbuna keepers will give their two cents.

I agree, but I couldn't tell you anymore than that.

they look like labeotropheus species, either trewavasae or fuelleborni.

For their sakes I hope they are male and female, or if two males, one may kill off the other when they mature. They are very territorial fish! I have 5 of them in a 120g, and they still can't leave each other alone!:rolleyes:
