View Full Version : Bad day
I woke up this morning to find my female bleekeri dead. I put her in a 50 gallon with the male with an egg crate divider and they have been in there since Friday. Last night he broke through and killed her. :(
Secondly my cuban is severely mauled . all his skin up to 3/4 of his body is gone. Still alive, but we will see. :(
He looks like he was in some other fishes jaws for a while struggled and lost most of his skin. He almost looks paralized from the waste down. I am really wondering if I should put him out of his misery, but he seems to be hanging in there. Is there any chance for this fish??

:( I am so sorry to hear about your loss Rudy :(
Try to save your Cuban if you can. The experienced gained will be invaluable and you can say that at least you tried. I hope he makes it buddy.
Thanks Ow. Although I have not been home again today my wife says he is doing o.k. He is currently keeping himself level with his front fins. There is quite a bit of rotting flesh around. My wife says it looks like he is stuck in a cotton ball. (ouch)
Melafix and salt is the remedy fo choice.

wow, thats aweful. one bad incident to another? sorry to ehar about your lose :(
Unfortunately I felt bad for him and had to put him out of his misery today. Poor guy could hardly swim. His wounds got a bit better, but I am positive he was paralysed on the back end as he could not keep his balance and swam with his front fins.
I am really choked as these guys are few and far between here.

I feel for you man. :bawl:
I came home last night and found my male Pelviacachromis roloffi dead on the substrate. The same one I picked up in a Kansas City auction last Saturday (700 mile roundtrip).
Even in death, his colors were awesome. I'm going to the TCA in June, hopefully I'll find a replacement there.
That is to bad Jonah. Sorry to hear about that.
Fortunately with me I always seem to find a replacement... You will to.
