I got rid of my male M. lombardoi about a month ago. I have two females that I bought at the same time, one of which has already had babies. As they grew from 2" to 4.5", one of the females faded out in coloring and the blue in the fins changed to yellow, but still with female markings. She dominated the other female even before I got rid of the male. Yesterday I noticed that the sub-dominant female is holding "again"??? Is the dominant female a male in hiding? Kind of like that movie where the guy pretended to be a girl so he could get into the girls locker room? I'm starting to have babies on a weekly basis, even from none related species!
Thanks, Sam

probably was a male in hiding.

Will he ever change to yellow?

yes, if he is the new dominant male...of course, the possibility still remains that she did it with a male of a different species.
