View Full Version : What kind of fish is this?

Anybody know what kind of fish this is the front of the tank. It is an orange-peach color at the head, fading to yellow at the tail. It also seems to have a yellow eye. The shaping doesn't seem african but all the other fish are. thanks!

cant quite tell from the pic, possibly a closer pic would help. but i do think i see a slight nuchal hump on it. maybe its just he camera angle. well try to get a closer pic if no one can help you out.

Yeah, could be a nuchal hump. The shape is of a younger red devil. But the color of the fish does not match and it wouldn't be mixed with africans. I found this pic on ebay and the lady who owns the fish has no idea. I love the coloring of this fish and think it would go great with my africans.

Most likely a 'RD' of some type, but could be a Flowerhorn.

looks like a flowerhorn. can't remember the name for the type but there is one kind that is half red and half gold/yellow/orange.

Given that the lady who owns it has no idea, I think that assuming it's african because of it's present company just falls apart! :D Many people keep fish with the wrong tankmates...

I didn't say the mystery fish was african. I said it was mixed with africans.

bad pick,(no offense) from far away looked lika a parrot but it also looks like a red devil better pic would help^_^

100% not a RD, but probably a hy-brid of one.
