Well ive posted before and I had obviously a cichlid problem :)

Anyways im recieiving a 50 Gallon tank and a 29 gallon tank and i have a 40 gallon and a 55 gallon...

I currently have fish wise

55 Gallon
1 Kennyi 2.5"
1 Red Devil 2.5"
1 Midas (Black and Yellow" 3"
1 Convict 1.5"
2 FireMouths 2" 3" I think the 3 Inch is a female im not sure tho she is totally differently shaped but i was told by a guy whos really into cichlids that its a firemouth i still have my doubts.
1 Electric Blue Lambido 2.5"
1 Mystery Cichlid ( Black with yellow fins and a lil dark blue coming out on the face any ideas?)
2 Red Empress
1 Pleco 5"

40 Gallon
2 Tiger Oscars one 2" one 4"

Well I was thinking in the 50 Gallon I could put the 2 Oscars till they grow out of it. In the 40 gallon I coulf run some small Africans. In the 55 I could run the south americans. In the 29 Gallon I could run a pair if Convicts... Lmk I have 2 lil midas so maybe I should run them in the 55 gallon alone and have the south americans in the 40 and a few africans in the 29 gallon lmk thanks

you should be ok for a while, but you must know from the answers that you got in your other thread, you're going to run into problems with some of those tanks as your fish grow. for your mystery cichlid and your firemouth-maybe, if you can take pics of them and post them at www.cichlidgallery.com(send a pm to cichlidpete or to tom to get a gallery password), we'd be better able to help you to i.d. them.:)

I am new here. I was into large s. american cichlids, but ran into space problems and had to get rid of them. I owned an 8 inch. jag. and a very tough 9 inch. jack dempsey, they were too much for me to handle in my current 65 gallon so I sold them and started fresh with african cichlids, wich I have always liked alot. I was wondering on the possibilities of keeping small africans with small but aggressive s. americans such as firemouth and convicts. what problems could arise if any. plase any advice would help.

Go for it! I would stick with omnivorous species from Malowi or Victoria because there ph range is closer to S.A.'s needs (vs. tang spec). I would also go with omnivores so that you don't have to worry about how much protein you are feeding your herbivores...I'm sure that their are also others on the forum who have mixed before too, so definetly get their input as well. Just "duck" when the purists come looking into your tank!
