are you looking for a cleaner or a cat (are you just wanting somethign to help clean, or do you like catfish and hope there is one that will work)? if you just need a cleaner go for a crayfish. if you like catfish i would suggest you dont put them with a water turtle, assume that anything that goes in a turtle tank is turtle food.

their max.size is 75 cm=30in=2.5 ft
they're coldwater cat. and as matured fish i don't think, they hide too much. they're behavior should be looklike the calriases.
and about this matter that will that turtle eat it or not? well, i said i'm not sure because of this question.
but however the answer of this question depends on the size of any one of them and agression of that turtle.

hi again.
let me to introduce anothers: (some are tropicals but live in cooler waters.)

name-------------------Max. size(ft)-------------Min. temprature ('c)

giant devil cat
(bagarius yarrelli)------------5--------------------------18

Bull head cat
(Ameiuris nebulosis )---------1.5----------------------- not important

butter cat-------------------1.4------------------------5
(ameiurus natalis)

Asian redtailed cat-----------3.16----------------------19
(Hemibagrus wyckioides)

Man-Eating Cat--------------8------------------------- 22
(wallago attu)

electric cat -Vmax=300-350 volts for adults
(Malapterurus electricus)-----3--------------------------23

some of these cat's are too hardy like clarases and seems that they could live in cooler water : like ARTC, MEC,GDC.

i'm not agree with keeping fishes like piranhas, maneating cats and elec.eels or elec. cats in home. they could make great problems and they're potential risk for the family's health. but i thinked ,well,wish he would like to keep them. :ok:

maybe you know but let me to say:

F=1.8C+32 , that : F= temprature in farenheight , C=temprature in Centigrade

goodluck.

so none of those can go in a 20g or 55g right??

20g is too small but i think 55 is not too bad for some of them.
however you want a cat that ;
1)lives in CW
2)could live in 20-55g
3)hide enough
4) the most important mater, could live with a turtle.

well, they are some suggestions. you should think yourself and do the best optimal choice under these conditions.

another matter the max.size of red tail cat is around 1m
but did you watch a fullgrown RTC in a normal home or shop aquarium?
i think that ther won't be problem because the growning of fishes quite depends on their conditions .
