HI ALL,
Im very new to the hobby (3 months)so I will throw this question out there. I have the oportunity to get a breeding pair of OREOCHROMIS talipia (3-4) inches. I think they are from Lake Victoria and the cichlids I currently have are malawis. Would it be a bad idea to mix these or am I getting to crazy here.
THANKS DARREN

I'm thinking you should eat him. That one tastes really good.... Go look in the fish rack at Walmart you'll see a few laying about I bet.

Well I think I'm going to go for it. Iknow there going to get huge but they are beautiful fish and I have a friend that will sell me a 110 gallon tank for 150 or maby I can talk her down to 100-125. In the end they will probable be great with tartar sauce LOL truth be told I could never eat my pet but it is a funny thought

Well live and learn these fish don't go well with my mbunas at all at least not the females. The first one was dead by morning I assumed that it was sick because she was doing fine when I went to bed. So I complained to the man I got them from and he gave me another female. I put her in the tank and about 3 or 4 of my guys wouldnt give her any peace so I had to remove her to a smaller tank the male on the other hand is doing fine nobody is messin with him hopefully ill be able to get some babies from them when I put them together for dates.

sorry to hear it. when you add new fish to an existing set-up it doesn't always work. sometimes it helps to rearrange all of the tank decor before adding them, but not always.
