I fell in love with these things when I first saw them on the angelfish forum. So I finally broke down and made my own. It makes water changes on fry a breeze and it's really just an awesome design.

They call it a TLC (Tender Loving Care) Jar and I couldn't agree more. The fry are safe from bigger fish and they are constantly getting a water change from the tank around them. You can read more about them here: TLC Jar (http://www.angelfish.net/yabbse/index.php?board=13;action=display;threadid=4127)
OH and BTW that's a fresh spawn of Sallie Boggs Koi angels in there, but they will work great for any and all fry with the exception of discus I suppose. :D

Well its interesting!

Its hard to tell but it appears to be air driven.... Bubbles lifting water in the tube ala an UGF with the 'cork' sponge allowing water in and the square sponge keeping the fry from swimming out....

Very clever!

What gave it away that it was air driven? The airline tube going in the top of the 'T' or the big ole bubbles coming out both sides of the 'T'?? :D

The good thing about these things is they take up little to no space in a regular tank and when you do a wc the fry are acclimated to the new water just a wee bit slower than if you just dumped new water in a tank.

My wife was wondering why I bought two more of those gallon pickle jars at Walmart tonight only to dump the pickles out in the trash when I got home. Heck I am making a few more to put the 150+ Cop. Azureus I just stripped into.
