Im not even sure that this guy is a cichlid but if y'all got any ideas to throw out there i'm all ears.

Looks like "red-ear sunfish" Lepomis microlophus, or possibly an immature "pumpkinseed", Lepomis gibbosus. Body shape is off for a bluegill, and usually greens have a larger gill flap. There are all sorts of natural hybrids in Lepomis though, due to introductions.
