Recently I noticed that my peacock has colored up, he's about 2 3/4 inches+ and taht he was begining to stand up to my electric blue ahli 3 1/4 inch.

I did a 50% change and a complete rearangement, figured it was time for a more complete cleanup. When I got everything back together I was able to witness my first territorial dispute. My peacock and my electric blue ahli did thier dance. The whole fins elongated puffing and huffing and water billowing technique. Iwas really entertaining since they only postured and eventually came to teh mutual understanding that each got half the tank.

Just thought I'd share my eleation and have an excuse for the dancing naner :D

Glaive: Congratulations on a peaceful end to the dispute! (Yes, and a great way to display the dancing naner!)

Just curious...how big is the tank they are in?

The tank my fish are in is a way too small 20 gallon. I am in the process of getting them at least a 75 if not a 100 gallon. Though with a move in teh next two weeks it may be a month before I get thier new home and then a month to cycle it.

So how did it workout? Did you ever get the bigger tank? I was curious because I had the same 2 in a 29 gallon and soon after the peacock colored up he became brave I think and the Electric Blue took him out. I'm bored as you can tell reading old posts.

My tank the current history:

I had to move my poor fish to my mother's due to traveling work. They are very well fed thanx to my mother's husband, how everthey are not so good at the cleaning part they now get a 25% water change every 2-4 weeks with a lame gravel vacuuming. However somehow they are all very healthy.

The tank is still a 20 gallon long and with me on the road if I get a bigger one now it would be a worse mess.

The tank has next to no aggression since the electric blue killed and threw the eureka red out of the tank<father in law witnessed it> The julies have at least 8 babies ranging from 1/2 inch to 1 inch.

still have the electric now at 5 1/2 inches roughly
the compriceps is prolly 3+ inches tough to say
the male julie is about 4 inches the female is maybe 2.5 inches
a very fat chinese algae eater
and a tiger botia

3 chunks of lava rock and plenty of teracota with the front open for swimming.

they have been off of live food since last september spirulina and pellet is thier diet.

the comp and the blue actually hang out together in one teracota pot and to boot I bought 15 very healthy looking feeder guppies yesterday and they lived until 2am this morning when I witnessed the blue and the comp hunting them together. taking turns scaring the school towars each other.

I am still looking to get a big tank <55 gallon> but it has to wait until I am settled down in louisiana, which hopefully will be august.

Sorry for the novel, I just figured this development may intrigue/surprise many of you who read it.
