Hello all,

I was just checking out that new 'members' feature up the top and one of the columns is post count.

So i was just wondering who's in lead. Mine is coming along nicely at 40 something.

Click on "Members" at the top of the page and then click on "Top Ten Posters". I think it's SGypsymaid at the top.

We actually had a "Members" feature on the old board too, but it wasn't as noticible then.

the only reason that i'm so far ahead of everybody is because when we were having problems, i posted like mad for a whole weekend so that folks who dropped by the site would know that we were still alive...no biggie. we don't want to encourage people to post a lot of 'junk' posts just to increase their numbers, though--quality means more than quantity.

And let's not forget about the numerous posts that occurred before August 30...:D

Maybe I shouldn't mention that...eh Tom?

Now I need the forthcoming Muh hah hah emoticon...

Uh...um...mention what? :uh:

I made it a point to mention to SGpysy that during each of her hospital stays, site traffic dropped by 50%.
Of course, I am as happy as the rest of you to see she's fine and back, but I sure did enjoy those huge savings on bandwidth.

In reality, S. did keep this site going when it was on (and I use that term quite loosely) another server on another network (Southwestern Hell, I think it was)--the crash n burner which tossed out some 5000+ posts that Chet does his best not to mention. :bawl:

To clarify: The 5000 :bawl: posts were the board total--not SGypsy's. I think she had only 2500

(Anecdote timeout) When Cichlid Forums started, there were no signups the first week (yep, even worse than now), and I got an email saying that the software wouldn't allow registration and could I please do something about it.

Turned out that I had unwittingly locked the board after its setup, and so it remained for days in that state until I got the mail from SGypsyMermaid.

True, we dont want all the spammers to come out of hiding.

Hey Tom, sorry for taking the cheap shot, but I've got to give you a hard time every once in a while...

Yeah, SGM really kept things alive when the site was in transition. We owe a lot of our rapid recovery and current boisterous activity to her efforts.

And of course, let's not forget our mighty leader. I would like to say a loud and public "Thank You" to Tom for all of his efforts!

It's much worse than a cheap shot, Chet. :drink:

It's the sad truth. :bawl:

 <- Does this smiley remind anyone else of Munch's "The Scream"?
