Anyone have any idea how old these beauts get? Mine is at least 6 years old from what I have been able to figure. The people who lived in this house bought him about 3 years before I bought the house.

He is already too big for the 90g I have him in. I need to find him a better home, but I do not want to dump into some LFS 50g tank. Has anyone ever had luck with posting trade info at LFSs?

A 90 gallon tank is plenty big for a severum. They can live up to 10+ years. Unless you have other fish with him, that tank is plenty big enough for him!!!

Thats the problem, he has plenty of tank mates from the other continent. I know its bad, but my hands where tied with ignorance at the time. Now, I want to find this excellent pet a good home.

Has he actually outgrown the 90g? Or do you just desire to move him because he is not doing well with the Africans?

Although as you have said, he should be moved from the African tank, 90g should be plenty for a Severum. How large is he? The largest Severum I have personally seen was at the ACA last year. It was a huge gold, but no more than 11" SL.

Oh and yes, 15 years is possible.

he/she hides during the day, comes out at night though. He is in great shape, his fins are large and untattered. He is about 8-9 inches. I just feel bad about keeping these SAs with africans.

I have made a few large caves in the tank for the Sevreum and the JD. They make good use of them. It just seems sad that they have to hide.

Thanks for the replies guys.
