reverse UGF

I am doing it backwards. Just got some fittings to turn my Rio power heads upside down.

The only negative I have been able to detect is the lack of water flow from the pump heads. This particular tank should be fine as it has plenty of water movement from the filters. I will probably add a back-up power head just as a precaution.

I know there have been some other posts on this subject. Just wanted to bring it up again. :sygypsy:

The only issue I have with reverse flow UGF is the fact that the biological bed (i.e. the gravel) cannot be removed for treatment with medication, etc.

There are also issues with cichlids excavating the gravel and creating inefficiencies with the bio-bed, but those can be managed with gravel tidies, etc.
